CMA warns of dangers in federal bill to expand scope of nonphysician practitioners

July 19, 2024

Independent primary care practices and community health centers considering joining an Aledade accountable care organization (ACO) for the 2025 performance year are encouraged to contact Adelade no later than July 28 to ensure your application can be processed before the August 1 deadline.

The California Medical Association (CMA) is collaborating with Aledade Inc., the largest network of independent primary care in the country, to help physicians succeed in value-based care, ensuring practices and health centers can thrive while delivering the best possible patient care.

Data has shown that value-based care – a form of reimbursement that ties payments to quality performance, patient outcomes and appropriate reductions in spending – lowers health care costs and improves patient outcomes. Practices can reap substantial benefits and savings from joining an ACO. California practices that participated in an Aledade ACO in 2022 earned $31 million in shared savings.
