What You Need to Know: CMA is now accepting early testimony on this year's major issue in advance of the 2025 CMA House of Delegates.
California Medical Association (CMA) physician delegates meet annually to establish broad policy on current major issues that have been determined to be the most important issues affecting members, the association and the practice of medicine. This year, the CMA House of Delegates (HOD) will tackle a single major issue when it convenes October 18-19, 2025, in Los Angeles:
Responding to Federal Funding Cuts and Other Attacks on Health Care, Public Health and Medicine: While the scope and scale of the changes being pursued at the federal level are significant and widespread, there are three main areas that could impact medicine. These include efforts to cut federal programs that provide or support health care coverage, that undermine physician education and workforce pathways and restructure and revise the federal government’s public health, and research infrastructure and priorities.
All members are invited to provide written testimony on this major issue report through Tuesday, September 23. The testimony offered will help guide the CMA councils in the development of the final report that will be discussed at the House of Delegates.
