Join us on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 12:15 p.m. for the next installment of the California Medical Association’s Virtual Grand Rounds – California’s Mental Health Landscape and Brief Interventions to Empower Front-Line Clinicians.
Physicians are constantly reminded by the media, academic journals and specialty societies of the rapidly increasing mental health needs of our patients. And yet, in a largely siloed system in which mental health is cared for apart from physical health, many front-line clinicians feel at a loss when they encounter mental distress.
In this Virtual Grand Rounds, Ashley Mills, M.S., Assistant Deputy Director of Community Wellness with the California Department of Public Health, will help us understand the scope of mental health concerns in California and opportunities for prevention and early intervention.
We will also be joined by Tam Nguyen, Ph.D., Director of Ambulatory Care, Mental Health and Addiction Care for Sutter Health, who will help us understand the challenges that front-line providers face and detail some brief interventions that clinicians can use in a variety of clinical settings.
And as always, we will hear from California State Epidemiologist Erica Pan, M.D., MPH, who will review the current status of COVID-19, influenza and other winter respiratory viruses.
The free one-hour webinar is open to all interested parties.
Virtual Grand Rounds: Emerging Public Health Issues is a free and monthly series providing the latest patient management news and resources. The effort is a partnership between CMA and the California Health and Human Services Agency, with the California Academy of Physician Assistants and the Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California.
If you are unable to attend the live event, it will be available for on-demand playback at cmadocs.org/grandrounds.
