October 01, 2024
Join us on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 12 p.m. for the next installment of the California Medical Association’s (CMA) Virtual Grand Rounds—Caring for Youth at Risk for Suicide
Recent data suggests that while 13% of young people and 39% of LGBTQ+ youth have suicidal thoughts, many of the health care settings where these youth seek care have little or no capacity to treat youth in crisis. In this Grand Rounds, we will hear from Sharonne Herbert, Ph.D., MSW, and Abigail Ross, Ph.D., MSW, about their work to bring family-based crisis intervention (FBCI) to an emergency department in California and adapting FBCI for primary care so that young people can begin stabilization and treatment early.
We will also hear from California State Epidemiologist Erica Pan, M.D., MPH, who will discuss current epidemiology of COVID-19 and other current public health issues in California.
This free one-hour webinar is open to all interested parties. Free CME is available to participants in the live event. If you are unable to attend the live event, it will be available for on-demand playback at cmadocs.org/grandrounds. But please note that CME is only available for those attending the live activity.
