CME year-end reporting requirements

January 22, 2020

This is an important reminder about the California Medical Association (CMA) annual year-end reporting requirements. By March 31, 2020, your organization is required to submit data about your 2019 continuing medical education (CME) activities and overall CME program in the ACCME’s Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS).

How do I login to PARS?

You can access PARS via the login button on the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) home page or directly at pars.accme.org. Once you have logged into PARS, click on the Program and Activity Data button to begin entering data. Note that anyone who is listed as a contact for your organization can enter data for your organization.

What data do I have to report by March 31, 2020?

There are three components to your 2019 reporting requirements:

  1. Report information descriptive of each CME activity your organization provided in 2019.
  2. Report the 2019 income for your overall Program of CME.
  3. Once you have completed steps one and two above, you must complete the annual attestation

Completion of these three steps will fulfill your year-end reporting requirements.

For additional information about CMA's year-end reporting requirements, visit Fulfilling Year-End Reporting Requirements Using PARS.

How can I get help with PARS?

ACCME has created educational tools, including FAQ, to assist you in your use of PARS. If you have specific questions about PARS or CMA’s reporting requirements, please feel free to email us at cme@cmadocs.org.

We appreciate your attention to this important data-reporting requirement.
