The California Medical Association (CMA) is offering its 2015 Western Health Care Leadership Academy attendees the opportunity to meet and interact with the program’s keynote speakers — New York Times bestselling author Malcolm Gladwell and Pulitzer Prize-winning science writer Siddhartha Mukherjee, M.D., whose book is the subject of an upcoming Ken Burns documentary.
This year's Leadership Academy is May 29-31, 2015, in the heart of Hollywood at the Loews Hollywood Hotel, just steps from the Dolby Theatre (home of the Oscars®) and the “Hollywood Walk of Fame.” Register today with the VIP Upgrade and enjoy more “up close and personal” experience, including express conference check-in, preferred seating, a private cocktail hour meet-and-greet with Dr. Mukherjee, a small group interactive breakout session with Gladwell and more.
Gladwell’s first book, The Tipping Point, has been a New York Times bestseller for 400+ weeks. It gave us new tools for understanding trends and embedded the term "tipping point" in our everyday vocabulary. Gladwell is truly one of the most impactful thinkers of the 21st century and has been named one of the 100 most influential people by TIME magazine.
Dr. Mukherjee is an oncologist, cancer researcher and Pulitzer Prize-winning science writer bringing new insights into the causes and cures of cancer. His Pulitzer Prize-winning book, The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer, has been made into a three-part, six-hour major television event from the preeminent documentary filmmaker Ken Burns. The documentary will be aired on PBS in March.
In his book, Dr. Mukherjee gives readers a fascinating look into the origins and causes of cancer, its deadly effect on the human body, how it has virtually enveloped modern civilization, and the epic battles that are taking place to control, cure, and conquer it. Dr. Mukherjee’s accomplishments as both a physician and author are powerful, illuminating and inspiring.
