There’s still time to register for Physicians for a Healthy California’s Health Equity Leadership Summit, a two-day event bringing together health leaders committed to advancing equity across California’s health care system. The 2025 summit promises to be an inspiring and action-driven experience—with keynotes from four powerful voices who are shaping the national conversation on health equity:

Featured Keynote Speakers

Former HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra
Former U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, California Attorney General, and longtime Congressman, Becerra has spent his career fighting to expand access to care and protect marginalized communities. As the closing keynote speaker, he will reflect on the national retreat from equity and what’s at stake for California moving forward.

Uché Blackstock, M.D.
Founder of Advancing Health Equity and author of LEGACY: A Black Physician Reckons with Racism in Medicine, Dr. Blackstock brings a deeply personal and professional lens to the conversation. She’ll host a fireside chat and book signing, offering a powerful call to action to confront systemic bias in health care.

Manuel Pastor, Ph.D.
One of the country’s most respected voices on economic and racial justice, Dr. Pastor directs USC’s Equity Research Institute. His keynote will explore lessons from his latest book, Charging Forward, and how climate and economic justice must intersect to build healthier communities.

Kevin Prindiville, J.D.
Executive Director of Justice in Aging, Prindiville will deliver a keynote focused on often-overlooked older adults and why they must be centered in equity efforts. He’ll highlight how policy and coalition-building can transform good intentions into meaningful change.
