What You Need to Know: CMA continues to fight at the national level to stop the devastating Medicaid cuts that will not only harm vulnerable patients, but will also destabilize our entire health system.
The U.S. Senate is considering a federal spending bill that threatens to cut $725 billion from Medicaid, jeopardizing coverage for millions, including 3.4 million Californians. These drastic reductions would undermine health care access, particularly in rural and underserved communities. Your advocacy made a huge impact in the House; now we need that same energy in the Senate! Here are two quick and easy ways to make an impact.
- Join our voter-to-voter texting campaign. All texts are pre-written and will be sent by you with a simple click!
- Send a letter to Congress. A sample letter is provided that you can send as written, or add your own details about how the cuts will affect the sustainability of your practice and/or your patients’ access to care. Even if you already sent a letter to the House in previous calls to action, we need you to send our new letter to the Senate.
