The California Medical Association (CMA) Continuing Medical Education (CME) program and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) will be hosting a free virtual support session to answer questions about learner credit data reporting in the ACCME Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS) on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, from 10-11 a.m. We’ll include information on the benefits of reporting learner credit data, details on how to report learner credit, tips and solutions. If you would like to attend the support session, please RSVP to cme@cmadocs.org.
Why is this important?
PARS is a centralized data system that not only includes activity reporting, but also learner credit data. This helps to reduce the burden on physicians and accredited provider organizations. Learner credit data is used for credentialing, certifying and licensing authorities.
In September 2021, the Medical Board of California joined ACCME’s State Medical Licensing Boards Collaboration to use PARS to verify if a physician has met relicensure requirements. CMA is committed to supporting the collaboration by reporting learner credit data and helping our accredited providers do so as well.
CME Passport is the physician portal where learners are able to find CME activities, and create an account to view, track and generate transcripts of their reported CME credit once their credit data has been entered.
Accredited CME providers report individual learners for Maintenance of Certification/Continuing Certification credit for Board Certification into PARS.
Bonus! Attendees of the support session who report learner credits for two activities within two months of the session will be entered into a drawing to win a free registration to the ACCME Learn to Thrive 2024 (or Accreditation Workshop 2024)!
CMA CME will provide additional support and training following the October 4, 2023, session. Reach out with questions or schedule time to meet with staff via cme@cmadocs.org.
