Adding CME learners to PARS

June 10, 2022
Area(s) of Interest: Continuing Medical Education (CME)

The new Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS) allows accredited provider organizations to add all physician learners into the PARS database, not only Maintenance of Certification (MOC) learners. Once entered into the database, physicians will be able to use ACCME’s continuing medical education (CME) Passport web application (formerly called CME Finder) to create personalized accounts, enabling them to view their reported CME and MOC credits and generate transcripts for their state medical licensing board (see State Medical Licensing Boards Collaboration and the helpful guide), employer or credentialing body. The database is utilized by all accredited CME organizations nationally.

While it will take some time for data to be robust, the California Medical Association’s (CMA) CME team strongly encourages everyone to begin submitting information now.

Additionally, attendees at CMA’s annual CME Provider Conference on June 24, 2022, will have the chance to attend a special session by ACCME staff on MOC and a demonstration of the new PARS.

Additional information can be found at the ACCME New PARS and in CME Passport: Info for Providers
