CMA president issues statement in response to recent acts of violence against physicians

June 04, 2022

California Medical Association President Robert E. Wailes, M.D., issued the following statement on the recent violence targeting physicians.

"The latest acts of violence in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Encino, California, that have targeted physicians underscores the escalating threat of violence that health care workers have faced in recent years. We are heartbroken and resolved to stand in solidarity with our colleagues who have dedicated their lives to saving the lives of others. We send not just our deepest condolences, but our outrage that such senseless acts of violence continue to plague our nation."
