Deadline extended to March 11 for CalHealthCares loan repayment program

The CalHealthCares Loan Repayment Program application deadline has been extended to Friday, March 11, 2022.

To help applicants with the process, CalHealthCares has been hosting webinars that provide an overview of the application, important timelines, common errors and the scoring system. If you were unable to attend any of the live webinars, they are now available for on-demand viewing.

CalHealthCares will be hosting a live Question and Answer webinar on Tuesday, March 1, from 12-1 p.m. to address applicant questions. Click here to register for the upcoming webinar.

The CalHealthCares website also has a variety of resources for prospective applicants, including a sample business plan, FAQs and information about the forms needed to apply.

About CalHealthCares:

CalHealthCares provides loan repayment on educational debt for California physicians and dentists who increase access to care to Medi-Cal patients. Eligible physicians can apply for a loan repayment award of up to $300,000 in exchange for a five-year service obligation. Eligible dentists can apply for a loan repayment award of up to $300,000 in exchange for a five-year service obligation or a Practice Support Grant of up to $300,000 in exchange for a 10-year service obligation. The program is funded by Proposition 56 voter-approved, tobacco tax revenues.
