For those interested in learning the basics of planning and running a continuing medical education (CME) program, and those looking to improve an existing program, the California Medical Association Institute for Medical Quality (IMQ) is offering two CME provider conferences this May in the Bay Area.

These conferences are an excellent opportunity to learn all things related to running a great CME program. Whether you’re new to CME or just polishing existing skills, join IMQ at The Westin San Francisco Airport on May 1-2, 2014.

May 1: CME Essentials Workshop

The CME Essentials Conference is a one day workshop for physicians, coordinators and education professionals who are new to CME. The workshop teaches attendees the knowledge and skills to define the relationships between accrediting organizations, apply a systematic process to planning and evaluating educational activities, and define steps to comply with ACCME Standards for Commercial Support™

May 2: CME Provider Conference

The Annual CME Provider Conference is intended for those who are involved with an existing CME program. The conference features best practices for planning, conducting and evaluating CME activities, as well as new requirements and clarification of existing CME requirements. The 2014 CME Provider Conference will cover hot CME topics, the simplification and evolution of accreditation, and a primer on the PARS system.

IMQ is also offering a two-hour "Documentation Walkthrough" add-on workshop the evening of May 1. This workshop will review the steps and documentation required to prepare initial or reaccreditation applications and interim reports. The workshop clarifies instructions and demonstrates methods of overcoming common problems found in CME-related documents and submissions. This workshop is helpful for individuals who are new to accreditation or who are interested in methods to simplify documentation for CME activities.

IMQ's CME provider programs are taught by expert faculty and engaging instructors with years of experience who make CME requirements and processes easy to understand. Don’t miss this great chance to build your skills and improve your CME program. For more information, visit www.imq.org.
