Lee Snook, M.D., vice speaker of the California Medical Association (CMA) House of Delegates and president of Metropolitan Pain Management Consultants in Sacramento, received the California Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) 2015 Carrie Nevans Community Service Award.

The award was named in memory and honor of Carrie Nevans, an acting administrative director of the DWC, who passed away in 2011. It recognizes “extraordinary individuals whose efforts, often unsung, do so much to benefit the comp system for the betterment of employees and employers.”

Currently Chair of CMA’s Workers’ Compensation Technical Advisory Committee, Dr. Snook has been a workers’ compensation qualified medical evaluator since 1995. Since 2012, he has served as the pain medicine expert on DWC’s Medical Evidence Evaluation Advisory Committee (MEEAC). He plays an active role in developing MEEAC’s recommendations for the Medical Treatment Utilization Schedule, which forms the evidence-based guideline for treating injured workers in California.
