UnitedHealthcare (UHC) Community Plan has confirmed that it launched its Medi-Cal managed care program in Sacramento and San Diego counties on October 1, 2017. UHC had anticipated launching on July 1, but delayed the rollout to October 1 to fulfill all requirements of California’s regulators.

UHC faxed and mailed notifications to its Community Plan contracted physicians in these counties, advising them of the effective date and to prepare for scheduling of patients. The notification also alerts practices to the possibility that a representative from the California Department of Health Care Services may contact them to verify their readiness to accept Community Plan members.

Additional information on the UnitedHealthcare Community Plan can be found on the UHC website.

Physicians with questions regarding the Community Plan rollout can contact UnitedHealthcare’s Network Management Resource Team at (866) 574-6088.
