UnitedHealthcare transitions from paper claim acknowledgements

RESOLVED: That CMA sunset Resolution: A-2-97; and be it further;

RESOLVED: That CMA supports policies that protect the confidentiality, autonomy, and self-determination of adults experiencing interpersonal violence who are not elders, dependent, or incapacitated. By eliminating reporting mandates for healthcare professionals, these policies enhance patients’ willingness to disclose interpersonal violence to their physicians, fostering a stronger physician-patient relationship and improving physicians' capacity to connect patients with appropriate support services; and be it further;

RESOLVED: That CMA supports policies that eliminate physicians’ liability for reporting or refraining from reporting interpersonal violence; and be it further;

RESOLVED: That CMA supports policies that foster collaboration and partnership among the healthcare system and community-based organizations dedicated to advocacy for victims and prevention of interpersonal violence.
