The value of CME: A note from our Chair

January 22, 2024

Are you looking for data to share with your organization’s leadership on the value of accredited continuing medical education (CME)? Join the California Medical Association (CMA) in San Francisco on June 21, 2024, at the Annual CME Provider Conference to learn more about an upcoming Accreditation Council on Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) CME professional toolkit that will include resources and selling points on the value of accredited CME that YOU can use as a CME professional to discuss with your organizational leadership.

For instance, did you know that the doubling time for medical knowledge in the 2020 decade is estimated to be a mere 73 days (for reference, doubling time for medical knowledge in 2010 was 3.5 years and in 1980 was 7 years). Accredited CME is absolutely critical for providers to maintain the most relevant and up-to-date knowledge base and skill set they need to practice medicine today. We are excited to share this upcoming resource with you and for you to share your experiences and struggles with like-minded colleagues and build up your own CME professional skills.

Kristin Jensen, M.D.
