On June 24, 2022, the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling on Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization reversed 50 years of Supreme Court precedent recognizing a constitutional right to abortion. This opened the door to enforcement of a wide range of state laws restricting abortion access and other evidence-based care. In many states, this decision has eliminated trainees' access to required experiences in women's health care and patients' access to comprehensive reproductive health care.
The University of California Health Systemwide Grand Rounds is hosting a free webinar on February 8, 2023, at 12 p.m., to review the current legal landscape, as well as considerations for health care providers and medical staff as they attempt to navigate this rapidly evolving post-Roe legal landscape. An overview of restrictive state laws' impact on medical education and women's health will also be provided.
