Los Angeles physician receives CMA’s physician health and well-being award

Los Angeles family medicine physician Marco Angulo, M.D., was awarded the 2021 California Medical Association (CMA) Gary S. Nye Award for Physician Health and Well-Being. This annual award honors a CMA member who has made significant contributions toward improving physician health and wellness.

Dr. Angulo serves as AltaMed's Medical Director of Medical Education, is a core faculty member of AltaMed's Family Medicine Residency Program and is one of AltaMed’s top physician leaders as a member of its Executive Physician Leadership Team.  

Dr. Angulo was honored for his commitment to and passion for helping fellow and future physicians find success and fulfillment, and happiness and well-being in pursuit of their noble profession.

In the words of his nominator:

“This physician’s motivation to the compassionate training of the next generation of health care providers is unmatched. He has personally mentored thousands of pre-medical and pre-health students who would not have continued without his support, motivation, and inspiration. In addition to his passion for mentorship and patient care, he is committed to improving the wellness of his physician colleagues and bringing back the joy of medicine.”
