Due to the ongoing public health emergency, the California Medical Association’s (CMA's) annual House of Delegates (HOD) will convene on Saturday, October 23, 2021, as a virtual event. The delegates meet annually to receive critical updates and provide feedback on the most important issues affecting members, the association and the practice of medicine. The CMA HOD consists of nearly 500 delegates elected by members of component medical societies, specialty societies, and CMA sections and forums, representing virtually every mode of practice and region of the state.
The delegates will tackle two major issues this year. The CMA Councils convened and reviewed testimony that was given on the first draft major issue reports (via virtual townhall and discussion forum) and have produced revised major issue reports, now posted here:
Updates on the actions taken at this year’s HOD will be published in next week’s issue of CMA Newswire.
