Join: CMA needs surveyors for CME accreditation

September 23, 2021
Area(s) of Interest: Continuing Medical Education (CME)

The California Medical Association (CMA) is recruiting continuing medical education (CME) surveyors to volunteer their time and expertise in exchange for the opportunity to learn from colleagues, gain knowledge and further improve the accreditation system. CME surveyors can be non-physician CME staff or physicians who serve as a link between CMA and its accredited providers during the interview process. The surveyor is an advocate for providers who will gather additional information and clarify evidence demonstrating compliance with the core criteria, standards and policies for accreditation.

Surveyors are expected to achieve and maintain a set of competencies, and they are requested to prepare for and conduct 90-minute interviews. Interested parties will receive training, professional development and support, including face-to-face training, conference calls and webinars.

CMA provides ongoing training, resources and support, as well as mentoring with an experienced surveyor.

To nominate a colleague, a member of your CME committee, or yourself, please complete this survey.

If you have any questions about the process of becoming a CMA CME surveyor, contact us at cme@cmadocs.org.
