Medical Board of California joins ACCME collaboration for CME reporting

May 13, 2021

The Medical Board of California is the latest addition to the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) State Medical Boards Collaboration, which aims to reduce administrative burdens and streamline the continuing medical education (CME) reporting process.

This new collaboration will allow the medical board to view CME participation data directly from the ACCME Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS), removing the requirement for physicians to report that data themselves. This service is provided by ACCME free of charge to the medical board, accredited CME providers and physicians.

This new functionality is expected to launch this summer, along with the new, improved PARS site. The new PARS will include fields enabling CME providers to upload learner-completion data for all accredited CME activities and learners, including the ability to enter the information above for California licensees.
