Continuing Medical Education (CME)
The California Medical Association’s (CMA) continuing medical education (CME) accredited providers are invoiced twice per year:
- Due Feb 1: The Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education’s (ACCME) annual accreditation fee, which is billed directly by ACCME at the end of the previous year and calculated using the average number of activities and learners in the Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS) from the previous three years
- Due July 15: CMA CME’s annual accreditation fee, which is billed in late May of the current year and calculated by using the number of CME credits/hours offered in the previous calendar year
ACCME and CMA CME use a tiered fee structure to distribute the responsibility for sustaining our accredited CME system more fairly among programs of different sizes. Failure to meet CMA deadlines may result in a change of status to administrative probation, and subsequent change of status to non-accreditation. Additional fees associated with renewing your accreditation term are charged only during self-study consideration. View CMA CME’s fee schedule here.
