The 2019 California Medical Association (CMA) House of Delegates (HOD) will tackle major issues when it convenes October 25-27, 2019, at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim. CMA physician delegates meet annually to establish broad policy on current major issues that have been determined to be the most important issues affecting members, the association and the practice of medicine. In prior years, CMA major issues have included: Health Care Cost Containment; Single-Payor; Physician Supply; Maintenance of Certification; Mental Health; Opioids; and Developing a 5-Year Public Health Plan.

The CMA Organized Medical Staff Section, along with representation from other CMA delegations, forums and sections propose Major Issue topics for consideration and approval by the CMA Board of Trustees. All members are welcome to submit ideas for major issue topics to medstaffhelp@cmadocs.org.
