June 12, 2015
Area(s) of Interest: California Physician's Legal Handbook Professional Development & Education

The California Medical Association (CMA) Center for Legal Affairs is happy to announce the upcoming release of the updated 2015 California Physician's Legal Handbook (CPLH). CPLH is the premier California health law publication that includes comprehensive legal information, including current laws, regulations and court decisions related to the practice of medicine.

CPLH, available in a multi-volume print format, as an online subscription or a combination of print/online, is updated annually by CMA attorneys to include the most recent changes in health law. New content for CPLH 2015 include additional documents on electronic communication with patients, coverage requirements under the Affordable Care Act and the state health benefits exchange. It will also contain updated sections on accountable-care organizations, hydrocodone rescheduling, and other physician licensing and practice issues.

Additionally, recent updates to the CPLH website allow for full search term capabilities using keywords, specific citations and court cases, as well as the ability to save searches and easily email and download CPLH content. By the end of summer, ON-CALL documents will be available in HTML format for improved searching and live links.

A CPLH website subscription comes with access for five individual users. (Additional users can be added for a nominal fee.) To stay up-to-date on content related to the practice of medicine, preorder your print copy or subscribe online.

For more information, visit www.cplh.org or call (800) 786-4262.
