Redland physician receives 2021 CMA Young at Heart Award

October 23, 2021

At this weekend’s House of Delegates, the California Medical Association (CMA) Young Physicians Section (YPS) named Redlands family physician Javier Sanchez, M.D., the 2021 recipient of the YPS Young at Heart Award for his commitment to helping young physicians become tomorrow’s leaders.

“He is a leader in causes near and dear to the Young Physicians Section including advocating for policy to address climate change and social determinants of health,” said Brian J. Wolk, M.D., YPS chair.

Dr. Sanchez is a board of certified  family physician with Kaiser Permanente in Redlands, an assistant clinical professor at UC Riverside and president-elect of the San Bernardino County Medical Society. He has been a tireless advocate for science during the COVID-19 pandemic, an early adopter of social media and zoom, and he has been a champion for vaccination and fighting misinformation, helping to lead the #ThisIsOurShot campaign.
