Area(s) of Interest: Continuing Medical Education (CME)

The Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) released the new Standards for Integrity and Independence in December 2020 along with an information packet, toolkit and resources. The new standards become effective January 1, 2022, and all continuing medical education (CME) providers are expected to implement the new standards by this date.

If you have not already updated your processes and mechanisms to implement the new standards, the below ACCME resources will be helpful.

  • New Standards Info Package: This PDF includes an overview and full text of the new standards, transition timeline, and links to resources.
