The California Health and Human Services Agency (CHHS) and the California Medical Association (CMA), in partnership with the California Academy of Physician Assistants (CAPA) and Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California (OPSC), are hosting a monthly Virtual Grand Rounds series on the evolution of the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and management of COVID-19 patients.
The next webinar in our monthly Virtual Grand Rounds series – Virtual Grand Rounds: COVID-19 Vaccine – will be Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at 12 p.m.
The sheer scale and lightning pace to develop COVID-19 vaccines is unprecedented in modern science. Is a breakthrough just around the corner? Will it be a one-time dose or an annual necessity, like a flu shot? Three experts will share the latest update on the vaccine's progress, status of clinical trials and state distribution plans.
Webinar participants will also hear from the lead of a statewide National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant focused on vaccine trials among vulnerable and underserved populations.
Physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants are encouraged to register to learn how to better:
- Discuss the current state of COVID-19 vaccine development
- Describe California’s planning efforts in anticipation of one or more COVID-19 vaccines
- Counsel any potential fears and misunderstandings patients may have on vaccines
These monthly case-based presentations include expert panel discussions and audience participation. This webinar will be moderated by Kimberly Newell Green, M.D., immediate past president of the San Francisco Marin Medical Society (SFMMS) and associate clinical professor at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).
The 90-minute grand rounds webinars are free and open to all interested clinicians. Participants can receive 1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.
If you are unable to attend the live webinar, they will be available for on-demand playback at covidroundsca.org.
