Lisa Folberg, president and CEO of the California Medical Association (CMA) Foundation, has been appointed to the California Department of Public Health Office of Health Equity (OHE) Advisory Committee.
OHE provides a key leadership role in efforts to reduce health disparities in vulnerable communities. The OHE Advisory Committee is integral in advancing the goals of the office and is composed of representatives from local health departments, community-based organizations, certain state agencies and departments, and service providers working to advance health and mental health equity for vulnerable communities.
Folberg has been the president and CEO of the CMA Foundation since 2014. Prior to her current position, she spent 10 years at CMA as vice president of medical and regulatory policy and associate director of government relations.
She joined CMA from the California Legislative Analyst’s Office, where she provided the legislature with analyses on a variety of health and social services budget issues. Folberg has also spent time volunteering and working in health clinics, and spent a year in South America developing a public health program for at-risk youth through a World Health Organization/UC San Francisco collaboration project. She holds a master’s degree in public policy from Georgetown University.
