The nomination period is now closed.
The California Medical Association (CMA) is currently seeking physician members to serve on the Diversity and Inclusion Technical Advisory Committee (D&I TAC). CMA's committees and councils provide key input to the Board of Trustees to guide the Association as it sets new policies.
The deadline to submit an application or nomination for the Diversity and Inclusion TAC is Friday, April 26, 2019.
Pursuant to CMA House of Delegates (HOD) Resolution 302-14, the Board of Trustees ("Board”) formed the Diversity and Inclusion Technical Advisory Committee (“D&I TAC”) and charged it with the responsibility of developing a strategic plan on diversity and inclusion for the Board’s consideration. Accordingly, the Board adopted the 2016-2017 CMA Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Plan (“Plan”) and adopted a CMA Diversity and Inclusion Mission Statement. The Board is now seeking to form a new D&I TAC that will assist the Board in implementing the Plan, including its 2019 strategy on leadership development.
It would be preferable that candidates interested in serving on the TAC have experience and/or knowledge on diversity and inclusion policies, strategies, practices, programs or research. It is estimated that the TAC will require one face-to-face meeting and three telephonic meetings. In addition, there is an expectation that the physician members of the TAC will prepare for each meeting by reading assigned reading material, participate in all TAC discussions (including e-mail discussions), and actively engage in TAC activities.
Please submit nominations through the nomination form on the CMA website, including:
Nominations must be submitted no later than 11:59 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2019.
