Vote No on AB 890!

AB 890 was introduced by Assemblymember Jim Wood, DDS, to grant full practice authority to nurse practitioners (NP). This bill would remove critical patient protections by allowing NPs to practice without physician supervision. AB 890 allows for NPs to practice medicine with no statutory limitations on their scope of practice and without completing the necessary education and training that the Legislature has deemed as essential for physicians to safelypractice medicine.

The bill will be heard in the Assembly Business and Professions (B&P) Committee on April 9, 2019. It's important that B&P members know that AB 890 will not achieve expanded access to care, maintain patient safety or promote affordability of care.
