TITLE: Senior Program Director

REPORTS TO: President and CEO

OFFICE LOCATION: California

EXEMPTION STATUS: Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Program Director reports directly to the President and CEO of PHC and Vice President of Continuing Medical Education (CME) at CMA. The Senior Program Director is a full-time position designed to serve as the key operational lead for one or more grant programs administered through Physicians for a Healthy California. This position will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Senior Director of Operations, PHC Program Director and Advisory Council to develop, implement and evaluate a program designed to provide grants. Further, this position will serve as subject matter expert on workforce development and retention strategies, analyzing trends to achieve the program goals.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises program directors

  • Executes work plan initiatives for the programs including performance objectives

  • Serves as a subject matter expert on the programs; performs research and analyses

  • Develops recommendations for application, scoring criteria, contract terms, marketing materials, etc.

  • Develops and implements program policies and standardized workflows

  • Facilitates Advisory Council meetings and functions

  • Develops and oversees program communication plans

  • Analyzes best practices and drafts recommendations for the programs

  • Drafts and monitors program budget and ensures internal controls are followed

  • Oversees material for meetings (i.e. agenda, materials, minutes, action items)

  • Provides guidance on high risk or complex grantee progress reports and internal and external reports on program’s progress

  • Supervises evaluative measures to monitor programs’ progress

  • Serves as liaison to the California State Auditor on fiscal and internal controls related to the program

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • At least five years of experience administering programs and managing program staff
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Experience in analyzing data to forecast trends and make astute assessments
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to travel and occasionally work evening and weekend events
  • Computer skill in Microsoft Office: Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and Word
