TITLE: Associate GME Program Director, Physicians for a Healthy California (PHC)

CONTRACT TERM: 12 months
Position Summary
The Associate GME Program Director is a full-time benefited position with a term of 12 months. The position is designed to serve as the key lead for the naïve health systems project, an initiative to support the development of graduate medical education (GME) programs in California. This position will work closely with the CEO and Physicians for Healthy California (PHC) staff to develop, implement and evaluate the program. Further, this position will serve as subject matter expert on physician workforce development and retention strategies, analyzing trends to achieve the programs goals.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Drafts work plan to develop and implement solutions including performance objectives for graduate medical education programs in California
- Analyzes best practices and drafts recommendations for developing GME programs
- Serves as subject matter expert on GME start-up programs
- Drafts and implements research plan, performing qualitative and quantitative data analyses
- Coordinates Advisory Council meetings and external functions
- Drafts materials for meetings (i.e. agenda, materials, minutes, action items)
- Creates and implements strategies to gather information from key stakeholders
- Develops evergreen interactive forums and materials to provide technical assistance to GME start up programs
- Tracks legislation related to physician workforce
- Researches and solicits external funding opportunities
Knowledge/Experience/Education
- At least one year of experience administering graduate medical education programs desired
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Experience in analyzing data to forecast trends and make astute assessments
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong organizational skills
- Ability to travel and occasionally work evening and weekend events
- Computer skill in Microsoft Office: Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Word
