Continuing Medical Education (CME)
We know serving as your organization’s primary contact can be overwhelming, especially if you’re new to continuing medical education (CME). To support you in this role, the California Medical Association (CMA) is launching a new Primary Contact Program.
CMA CME staff will now reach out to individuals newly identified as primary contacts in the Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS). We will provide helpful resources for those new to CME and outline the key responsibilities as your organization’s Primary Contact, and extend an invitation to meet with CMA staff to provide education on the responsibilities of your new role.
Primary Contact Responsibilities:
- Serve as the main point of contact for accreditation-related tasks, including year-end reporting and reaccreditation notifications.
- Work within your organization to develop valuable and impactful CME programming.
- Ensure that all organizational contacts in PARS are accurate and up to date, including a designated Billing Contact and CEO Contact. (While these roles do not require PARS access, they must have a valid email on file).
- Confirm that all CME activities are entered into the Activity Data section of PARS.
- Complete the Demographic and Cultural and Linguistic Competency (CLC)/Implicit Bias (IB) Temperature surveys annually on behalf of your organization.
