CMA 2026 annual CME accreditation fees

November 14, 2025
Area(s) of Interest: Continuing Medical Education (CME)

The California Medical Association (CMA) continuing medical education (CME) program 2026 fee schedule is now available. CMA CME will send out its 2026 calendar year (January through December) annual invoices via email in March, which will be due May 31, 2026. Please see the updated 2026 fee schedule here.

CMA uses a tiered fee structure to ensure fair distribution of accreditation costs among programs of different sizes. CMA's annual accreditation fees are calculated using the greater of the following three-year averages: the number of CME credits offered OR the average number of learner interactions.

The fee will be based on data CME providers reported for the 2022-2024 reporting years in Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS) data. Health systems are charged a fee based on the aggregate credits offered by all entities that are part of the system’s CME program.

Please note that the CMA annual fee is separate from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) annual fee (billed directly by ACCME) and Reaccreditation Self Study Fee.

CMA-accredited providers are accountable for timely submission of fees that are required either to attain or maintain accreditation. Failure to meet this deadline could result in an immediate change of your accreditation status to probation, and subsequent consideration by the CMA Steering Committee on CME for a change of status to nonaccreditation.
